ABOUT TAMANU OIL
Tamanu Oil is called “Green Gold” because of its’ versatile skin and hair beauty uses. The oil comes from the Tamanu Tree found in Polynesia.
Within the region, Tamanu Oil is used for hair and skin. Tamanu oil is a topical healing agent that is:
- antineuralgic
- anti-inflammatory
- antimicrobial
- antibiotic
- anti-oxidant
ORGANIC
The Tamanu Tree has very few pest problems and can be easily grown organically (1). But to get benefits, it is important to select a brand that uses pure Tamanu Oil and properly processes and tests it to ensure quality.
WHY SELECT THE PRIME NATURAL BRAND
Many Tamanu Oil brands are technically “natural”. Prime Natural Tamanu Oil is certified as USDA Organic. The Prime Natural Brand uses 100% Pure and Natural Oil in this and all their products.
TRANSPARENCY IN SUPERIOR PRODUCT TESTING
Prime Natural only uses the cold pressed extraction method for superior Tamanu Oil. I like that each product is GC/MS tested to ensure 100% quality. Prime Natural posts the quality reports on their website.
PACKAGING
Prime Natural Tamanu Oil comes in a high-quality dark amber glass bottle. It has three dispensing options: a pump, a glass dropper, and tamper-proof seal cap. I like the dropper because I can dispense just a few drops without spilling.
WHY USE TAMANU OIL FOR SKIN
Tamanu oil is used for cosmetic and topical applications. It is primarily used where anti-inflammatory properties are beneficial. Tamanu Oil research supports using Tamanu Oil for the healing of burns, scars and some skin diseases. (2)
Both anti-inflammatory and antiseptic, Tamanu Oil is used for skin conditions such as:
- acne scars
- burns
- dry scalp
- eczema
- mosquito bites
- psoriasis
- stings
- stretch marks
- flaky, scaly or dry skin.
HOW TO USE TAMANU OIL ON SKIN
AS AN ANTI-AGING TREATMENT
Before bedtime, massage a few drops of Tamanu Oil onto the face and neck. It serves as a moisturizer and anti-aging treatment.
FOR ACNE SPOT TREATMENT OR WRINKLES
For treating specific areas, such as acne or fine wrinkles, use a cotton swab to dab the affected area.
AS A SKIN TONER
Mix Tamanu Oil with geranium, myrrh, frankincense, or lavender oil. This cleanses pores and tones skin.
TO TREAT SCARS & STRETCH MARKS
Apply Tamanu Oil directly to scars and stretch marks. The oil can also be added to a daily moisturizer or mixed with essential oil.
Why Use TAMANU OIL ON HAIR
Tamanu Oil is a common hair treatment in Polynesia, where the Tamanu tree is common. Tamanu oil is a humectant that hydrates the hair and holds moisture.
HOW TO USE TAMANU OIL ON HAIR
HAIR: Apply a few drops of Prime Naturals Tamanu Oil onto dry or damp hair. Concentrate on the last few inches of hair or where ever split ends occur. The humectant properties keep hair hydrated. It nourishes, thickens and strengthens the hair. This prevents hair breakage.
SCALP: Applying Tamanu Oil to the scalp nourishes hair follicles. It helps stimulate hair growth, reduces inflammation and dandruff. It also stimulates blood flow to the scalp.
MY EXPERIENCE
SCENT: There is a faint nutty scent.
APPEARANCE: Prime Natural Tamanu Oil has a beautiful golden green color!
CONSISTENCY: The oil is semi-thick but easily spreadable. Â A very tiny bit of Tamanu Oil goes a long way. I mix a few drops into my moisturizer or apply it directly to acne or a scar.
EFFECT:
I tried Prime Natural Tamanu Oil on an old scar on my leg. I massage a drop into the scar each day for a week. It does look softer and feels more pliable.
HAIR TREATMENT
This Tamanu Oil spreads easier than other Tamanu oils I have tried. I combine Tamanu Oil with Jojoba Oil or a supporting essential oil such as Lavender Oil for a moisturizing scalp massage.
Another option is to add a dropper full of Tamanu Oil into a creamy hair conditioner. This turns any hair conditioner into a super conditioning hair masque treatment! I find it leaves my hair soft, silky and smooth. My hair feels stronger after Tamanu use.
CONCLUSION
Prime Natural Organic Tamanu Oil is a versatile beauty treat. It is organic and effective. Prime Natural Organic Tamanu Oil is useful for many hair and skin conditions. It is useful for the entire family ranging from healing scars to acne to treating signs of aging.

Ella G says
Is there a mesquite scent to this? The last tamanu i tried was too strong.
Style Chicks says
Hi Ella!
There is a light nutty scent. I find the scent to be less strong after it is massaged directly into the skin. I can’t detect the scent when a few drops are mixed into my moisturizer.
