Pinch of Colour is one of the first makeup brands made without water. Packed with natural ingredients and nourishing botanicals, Pinch of Colour Healthy Lips Waterless Lip Oil delivers an intensively hydrating lip stain formula.
What It Is
- A glossy lip stain in a tube that behaves like an intensively hydrating lip treatment.
- It uses a precise lip brush applicator for clean application.
- The feel is not sticky or greasy
- It comes in three shades:
- CREAM DREAM – a sheer caramel nude
- BERRY BITE – a sheer raspberry red
- PINK CRUSH – a sheer guava pink
The Look
Pretty pout with luscious sort of a precise just ate berries stained lips sheen. Once the gloss wears off, it leaves lips with a lasting smooth finish with a hint of lip stained color remaining. The colors are far more natural on the lip than we expected from the tubes.
It works over bare lips or over a lipstick. I love it as my first lip product for my morning commute before full precise lipstick application, or for more casual trying but not trying makeup looks.
Ingredients
Rosa Canina Seed Oil
Rosa Canina Seed Oil is an emollient. It contains tocopherols (vitamin E) and carotenoids (pro-vitamin A) that gives it some nice antioxidant properties.
Rosa Canina Seed Oil is a moisturizing plant oil loaded with skin-nourishing fatty acids (linoleic acid – 51%, linolenic acid – 19% and oleic acid – 20%).
Apricot (Prunus Armeniaca) Kernel Oil
An emollient that softens and smooths. Apricot oil is lighter than many other oils but still provides great sheen. It contains antioxidant vitamin E and nourishing fatty acids (mostly oleic acid 54-74%, linoleic acid 12-35%). It has nourishing and moisturizing properties (as a high oleic oil it’s ideal for dry skin types) and is quite easily absorbed into the skin.
Macadamia Nut Oil
Macadamia Nut Oil is a native Australian nut. Macadamia oil is very rich and contains many natural lipids. It is loaded with emollient and nourishing fatty acids. It’s a high oleic acid oil (50-67% oleic acid and only 0-5% linoleic acid) that makes it very emollient and ideal for dry skin types (and less ideal for acne-prone skin). Macadamia uniquely contains high amounts of a rare fatty acid called palmitoleic acid (12-25%) that give Macadamia oil a “cushiony” feel. It’s also easily absorbed and makes the skin soft and supple.
Avocado Oil
Avocado Oil is 72% monounsaturated fatty acids. This is higher than Coconut or Grapeseed oils. Avocado Oil mixes with water better than other oils. Avo oil readily penetrates into the skin. It absorbs instead of sitting atop the skin, making it an ideal moisturizer for dry, chapped lips.
Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate)
Vitamin E softens the skin, making scar tissue more pliable and soft.

About the Brand
Pinch of Colour is one of the first waterless beauty brands and one of the very few which has cosmetics in their product range.
You will note water is missing from the ingredient list. Water is usually at the beginning of the ingredient list- most of the time making up almost 70 to 80% of the formula. Cutting water from the formulation actually creates a more hydrating product because it won’t interfere with our skin’s natural sebum protective barrier.
Driven by a mission to conserve precious water for drinking, Pinch of Colour not only performs professionally and delivers a more potent product, but they make a difference through philanthropic initiatives.
OTHER PINCH OF COLOUR PRODUCTS
Pinch of Colour also makes waterless lip colour lipsticks, Face Glow, Face Tint, and a Waterless Face Elixir Oil. Stay tuned for future Pinch of Colour product posts.

waterless? Really? is it very sticky ?
Style Chicks says
Hi Mackenzie, no it is not sticky at all. I expected waterless would mean a thick honey-like texture, but it is smooth and not sticky at all
