The stitching is well done with no loose threads and it is made with quality materials without shortcuts. For example, the connection between the bag and strap is metal, not plastic. The shoulder strap leather is well stitched and thick and bears the weight well.

The front of the bag has a secret thin zippered pocket to hold my phone or wallet, tablet or gloves. This pocket is hidden but accessible so it is a safe place to store such smaller items securely.

MY EXPERIENCE
I was able to carry not only my laptop but a 3-inch binder notebook, a textbook, my tablet, and my water bottle all in separate compartments.

The front flap holds my ID in place so I can swipe scan into the secure access only buildings without having to remove my ID from the case, which is convenient when I am carrying coffee or rushing around work or school.
I like that I can carry everything I need for a full day of work or school or travel. There are two water bottle pockets which means I can carry a water bottle for during the day and another bottle for the gym, or a water bottle and a thin coffee thermos. This is more convenient than waiting in line for coffee before a class, yet the bottles are safely kept away from my laptop, papers, books, and equipment.

The bag is highly durable, even when I overstuffed the bag, the shoulder strap bore the weight and the bag did not rip. The top handle is sturdy and comfortable to carry the bag without chafing.

The back could be used for an overnight trip. I could fit my makeup and toiletries into the back pocket, socks, spare t-shirt, flat shoes, tablet, small hairdryer, and my camera, etc.
I particularly like the double security of both the velcro over flap and the zippered top compartments to keep the contents of the bag secure from theft, loss, or the weather.
