Don’t you marvel at how soft your face is after your skin is professionally exfoliated? If you would like to still marvel at your soft skin without the wonder of seeing how much your spent at the spa when you billing statement comes in, read on.
Find it at Saks.com.
Remember, you skin doesn’t need heavy exfoliation every day – that’s a recipe for raw skin. And don’t forget that washing your face with a plush, soft wash cloth gently exfoliates some dead cells and you can use it everyday – just don’t scrub too hard! While you may miss the plinky-plunkey music and cucumber water at the spa, these products really compete with a professional exfoliation, at a fraction of the cost.
Is your skin missing the glowing look it gets after a facial? Stay tuned for our next Spa Economy feature on Brightening Treatments.
I know I’m in the minority, but I have never really been a fan of treatment masks. There are a couple I use from time to time, but sitting there for half an hour with goop on my face just doesn’t appeal to me. So I eagerly tried Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare Brightening Treatment Mask – any product that promises brightening I’m eager to try, and you only keep it on for 30 seconds to two minutes. A mask I can use in the time it takes to Sonicare my teeth? Perfect.
The Brightening Treatment Mask has a roster of all natural ingredients – as does the entire Liz Earle line – so if you have a tendency to have reactions to the chemicals in skincare products you will want to try the Liz Earle line. The Brightening Treatment Mask consists of Aloe Vera Juice, Camphor Oil, Green Mineral Silt (which contains calcium, iron and magnesium, which are all essential for skin tone and cellular strength), B5 (the stuff in multi-vitamins that makes your skin glow, your hair lush, and you nails long), Sweet Almond Oil (an amazing moisturizer), white clay to draw out dirt and grime before it has a chance to cause a blemish, and witch hazel water.
Per the package’s instructions (it comes in a bag that is perfect for travel, btw), I massaged the mask onto dry skin and I left in on for two minutes. It felt refreshing on, and it didn’t sting, which is impressive considering the results I got in such a short period of time. The kit comes with an incredibly soft muslin cloth to remove the mask, which came off easily and completely with warm water (it drives me crazy when clay masks leave remnants on your face no matter how thoroughly you wash your face, but Liz Earle’s mask comes off clean).
I eagerly patted my skin dry and was taken back by the results. There was something very unfamilar about my appearance…I looked awake. As if I just woke up from a great sleep and just took an energizing jog (a thing that is complete foreign to me, but some people claim the concept of an “energizing jog” actually exists). My cheeks looked rosy and incredibly bright (they named the product aptly). My pores were tight, and my skin had a healthy, clean inner glow to it.
I’ve had a couple of early mornings in the past couple of weeks that have followed late nights, and Liz Earle’s Brightening Treatment Mask really does the job in getting my skin looking like I got a full night’s rest.
It even pepped my skin up to the point I didn’t have to put on blush. Now that’s impressive.
