Despite the fact that I have a lot of coats, I can never find one that’s right for this time of year when one day you don’t need a coat at all, other days you need a lightweight wool coat, and a trench is fine on other days. The J. Crew Citronella Coat fits the bill on days that layering is key. With it’s 60’s appeal and Peter Pan colar, it is sharp on it’s own and compliments a lot of other J. Crew clothes – try it with a polo or even last year’s Striped Pique Polo dress.
Take a look at Veronica from Archie Comics – you know where the light bounces off her hair a little above the temple. That’s a sign of youth seems like a small thing, but adding shine to your hair can make you look far younger. And if, like me, you’ve tried all sorts of shine serums trying to get your hair to have shine and luminosity, you probably have also been disappointed by many – you may get shine, but you also get greasy hair – it’s just too easy to use too much shine serum.
Fortunately, you don’t have to worry about that any longer thanks to the wonderful people at Frederic Fekkai. I was excited when I heard about Frederic Fekkai Salon Glaze, but it absolutely blew me away when I tried it.
As I mentioned before, Fekkai Salon Glaze has good stuff in it: Pearl proteins to make your hair luminous, and grape seed extract, sweet almond protein, and B-5 vitamins to get your hair in great condition fast.
But just how fast was what astonished me after my first use (apply it to your hair for three to five minutes after you wash your hair and then rinse out), my hair had an amazing shine to it, and no residue! By use #3, my hair reflected light like a mirror I was amazed.
I really like that Salon Glaze is non-chemical, but achieves the same results as getting your hair professionally glazed and far more convenient. After washing and conditioning your hair, squeeze (gently!) the excess water out of your hair, and then apply enough to cover your hair all the way from the scalp to the ends. You don’t need a ton of it apply it to one section first and you’ll get the hang of how much you need it pretty much absorbs in immediately. If you don’t like conditioning too close to your scalp for fear of buildup don’t worry, this washes out clean. Wait three to five minutes, and rinse out. Style whatever way you like, and enjoy the super shine! If you color your hair, this is a great way to keep your color looking fresh from the salon far longer.
Like I said before, each time you use it your hair gets shinier I didn’t get the mirror-like shine until the third use, but I would have been thrilled if any product had given me the shine I got from the first use as well. It doesn’t look like you have more product it your hair simply looks massively more healthy and super shiny.
I found that using Fekkai Salon Glaze in conjunction with Fekkai All-Day Hair Plump left my hair in out of this world condition and silkier than I’ve ever seen it they work really well together.
Frederic Fekkai Salon Glaze is available at Sephora.com and Beauty.com

I love this dress – great for an outdoor summer wedding.

At first I thought it was rather silly to buy a $1300 Fendi Baguette that comes with ten markers so I can draw my own design on it, even if it is Fendi. And I’m not pulling out my credit card anytime soon, but there is some merit to having a purse of this sort.
This kit from Fendi comes with a white canvas baguette with “F” magnetic closures and ten markers so you can draw on your own design. If you are in the Fendi handbag market and have an artistic bend, consider this – would you like a upscale purse to document the major events of your life on? As the years go by, write a date or doodle a picture on the bag – marriage, a career-making event, children, first house, grandchildren – and proudly wear it through the years. Seems like it will be a great little clutch to bring along to your 50th anniversary party – and will provide a conversation piece each time you wear it in the years to come.
Think of it as a rather expensive patchwork quilt. But cheaper and more fun than getting a tattoo removed…
Find it at Neiman Marcus for $1300.
