Things We Really Like About Homey

  1. The ability to sync bookmarks across devices. That way, I can always access my bookmarks and notes no matter where I am. I often am at work and realize that the website I can’t remember the address of is on my home computer. Not a problem with Homey!
  2. A fresh background every day. Each day the background changes. Don’t like today’s background? Just change it to another one! There are even seasonal backgrounds and more added every day!
  3. The ability to sync notes across devices. Even if I set up reminders on my phone, there is always something you forget on your list. I find myself less likely to forget if I am staring at my to-do list all day.
  4. The ability to search both the web and my bookmarks from the same page. It is easy and you can choose your preferred search engine.
  5. A clean, organized start page. I like being able to immediately find the sites I use most often and to be able to organize them the same way I organize my phone and tablet apps.
  6. The backgrounds are really soothing. I find myself just taking a moment here and there during the day and watching them. A great way to relax and take a breath!

MY EXPERIENCE USING THE BAG

The bag is sturdy and holds my laptop safely as well as all my gear including a sketchbook, notepad, my tablet, scarf, my bento lunch box, my computer glasses and sunglasses, my phone and other gear. There is room to store my drawing tablet in addition to my laptop. The laptop compartment is padded and safe.

The material holds up well, it is a high-quality EVA. I like this because if I overpack the bag, it will not damage it or stretch it out.

It is comfortable carrying it both by the shoulder straps and by the handle. I really like that the back of the case has a special padded material that both creates a cushion and reduces heat conduction so that it is comfortable to carry the backpack even in hot weather.

The hidden zipper is easy to access if you know where it is, and the side pockets are deep enough to accommodate my oversized water bottle without tipping over.

The USB Port cable is very useful when using my laptop at a coffee shop and I want to charge my phone while I work.

6) Add labels when packing items away. I just picked up eight of my favorite lip stain that has been discontinued (sniffle). I packed them away for safe keeping and added a label that Sortly generated for me. It let me add the info I needed to know what is in the box, it let me add a title, information and even let me pick a symbol to put on the label so it is easier to find.

7) Add “throw-away” dates. I like adding the date I should throw away an individual item under “Warranty Expiring”. I used to put the date that an item should be tossed on a piece of tape on the item, but I often found that the ink wore off after a few weeks if I handled the item often (like mascara), so that wasn’t a great solution. Sortly clearly tells me when it is time to replace an item. I really enjoy this feature when I am headed to Sephora or Ulta and am looking to see what needs replacing soon, rather than just running out or realizing an item is expired. Then I can plan my shopping trips or online orders, and stock up on items so they are on hand when I need them!

REPLACEABLE BATTERY

This pedometer has a replaceable battery. Full instructions on how to replace the battery are included within the manual, and “AG13” batteries are a 1.5 V battery and are inexpensive and easy to find at Amazon and other retailers.

PUTTING THE PINGKO PEDOMETER TO THE TEST

I feel like I am up and down from my desk and on my feet much of the day, but I was unsure how much of that was active movement and how much was just passive “steps” that offer little exercise or calorie burning value. I tested one day at home and doing errands, another day around the office and also walking along a boardwalk walking trail near the beach.

HOW TO CLIP ON THE PEDOMETER

I clipped it to the center of my yoga pants at the waist. It also worked clipped on my shoelace. I made sure to place the pedometer so that the buttons face the ground to best engage the tri-axis technology.

It makes a light click when counting, something I noticed when I was listening for it at home but I could not hear the click in the ambient noise of a store, outside, in the gym or in an office environment.

WHAT IS AN ACTIVE STEP?

I went about my day and would check the pedometer progress after running up and down a flight of stairs or walking out to the mailbox. When grocery shopping, it counted the “active” steps walking to and from the parking lot, and when I went through aisles with my cart. But steps, such as when I stood to wait for my turn at the deli counter shifting my weight, do not count as “active steps”.

  • Make sure the pedometer buttons are facing downward (not sideways or upside down) so the axis is properly enabled to count steps.
  • Placing the pedometer at the center of the waistline ensures the most accurate count.
  • Walking briskly enough to naturally swing your arms is often enough to enable cardio and aerobic benefit in your walking
  • Before use, carefully remove the white plastic tag without ripping it

CONCLUSION

Using the Pingko Pedometer helps me track my activity and keeps me motivated to meet and increase my fitness goals. It also helps me to know if I am drinking enough water to stay hydrated for my actual activity levels. It helps me remember to take the stairs instead of the elevator and to keep an active pace in my walking when possible.
