I’m not a huge perfume wearer – and when I do wear a fragrance, it’s usually a single-note. So when I got sent a sample of Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare Botanical Essence #1, I didn’t try it for a couple of weeks. But it’s one of those days that I am especially attracted to fruity things (currently gingerly typing this with wet papaya colored nails), so I thought I’d try out the citrus-top noted scent.
I really like it. It is indeed a complex scent – almost as if the notes were slowly opening and blending into each other before each becomes a distinct scent. It’s sophisticated while not being overpowering by any means. And as a bonus, I really like how the scent blends with the citrus scent of Oscar Blandi Pronto Gloss Instant Glossing Cream complimentary but not competing.
Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare Botanical Essence #1 will be available this summer and you can sign up on the Liz Earle website to be notified when it’s available!

Thanks to the good folks at Freebieville for letting us know about this! I saw this is Allure magazine a couple of months ago and have been watching it since.
I am perpetually attracted to the colors of the Shine Blast Lipgloss line, but heard that the lipgloss was sticky, so I held off trying it. But I’m glad I got sent one to review this gloss is amazing.
First off – this is probably the least sticky lip gloss I’ve gotten to try in quite some time. As in, if your hair blows in your face, it won’t get stuck in this gloss.
The amount of color it distributes is absolutely amazing. One coat is a nice juicy slick, two is a beautiful sheer color. I tried Sparkler, a beautiful pink. It is absolutely fantastic on its’ own, and goes perfectly over Liptini Framboise. I’ve been wearing two-three coats on a bare lip on the especially hot days of late, and it doesn’t feel too heavy in the least (and my lips stay moist!)
And as a bonus, it tastes like watermelon!
This is a great line, and I plan on purchasing other shades. I was looking at the display today at Walgreens, and they all seemed like universally flattering shades!
I love the Fusion Beauty line – and Fusion Beauty IllumiFill Line Filling Luminizer with Amplifat sounds like a great new product. Dispensed by a roller (love that for getting application even), it serves as an illuminator and a plumper (via hyaluronic acid).
Directions say to apply it twice a day for 28 days (like Fusion Infatuation) for results. So it delivers a double punch – optical diffusers hide lines instantly, and the product encourages collagen production over time. Sounds great – especially if you are just starting to experience fine lines.
Find it at Sephora for $49.
